The Hottest Trends Right Now

Mismatched Nails

There’s so many ways to go with this one, like having different designs on each nail or animal print decals and what not, but I kept it simple by painting every other nail pink and black. I kept my toenails plain pink though; didn’t want to go overboard. Send in photos of your mismatched nails to FashionFeenster@aol.com.

Leopard Print Shoes

Such a sexy print on a shoe! I was at the mall the other day and there was nothing but leopard print shoes in platforms, flats, and stilettos. These I tried on from Express. Oh how I wanted them. They are $69.90 at Express.com. They also come in a stiletto. Tip: Red toenails look HOT with leopard print shoes!

Feather Earrings

Especially peacock feathered earrings! Peacock colors are just beautiful! Forget the feather hair extensions and throw on some fun, big feathered earrings and just look like you have feathered hair extensions.

Glittered Converse Kicks

Totally diggin’ the sparkly Converse sneakers that are taking over shelves everywhere. They come in many colors such as glittery pink, black, blue, gold and more to spice up your casual look!

Skinny Belts

Out with the chunky belts worn at the waist and in with dainty, skinny belts in neutral colors placed around the belly button to add a feminine, tousled touch to blouses. I’ve seen a lot with a flower at the center but I like it more offset and small or else it looks silly having a big flower on ur belly button.

Stripes

Fairly thick, bold stripes are everywhere: on tops, skirts, even shoes. They look hot in a metallic blue pattern or even in a sexy lacy pattern as seen here on the model from Forever21.com. It works well when you combine the two as long as the stripes are going in the same direction. You don’t want people to get dizzy looking at you.

Jumpsuits

Long pant jumpsuits replace long dresses for nice evenings out on the town. Go as short as the ankle but no rompers..leave that for the summer time. Both wide legged and skinny legged jumpsuits are in. Add pretty pieces, a skinny belt, heels and a clutch to dress it up.

Embrace Flower Power!

One of the trickier summer trends to style is floral patterns. Trying too hard to match the pattern with the rest of your outfit could result in you looking like a garden. Here’s a how-to guide on tackling this flirty trend for the summer months!

Forever 21 wedgesJ Brand denim,  American Apparel topForever 21 bags, Ray Ban aviators

Floral is a very whimsical and fun pattern, so play off it with the other items of your outfit! Don’t be afraid to incorporate other minor floral patterns with your other pieces, but never match the pattern exactly! Use the colors of the flowers on these gorgeous (and cheap!) Forever 21 wedges as the inspiration for the rest of your outfit. Choose cute and summery colored denim cutoffs paired with a rose-colored floral sweater. Matching the shoes with this floral shirt is okay because these flowers are much more subtle! For daytime, opt for a cute complementary backpack, like this one in a varying floral pattern. Take this look from day to night by switching the backpack for a cute shoulder bag. Lastly, offset the femininity of this look by choosing a pair of masculine-looking aviators to give your outfit some edge!

Bows are everywhere right now! On shoes, bags, headbands, tops… I wonder if Lady Gaga was the inspiration?

Tula – A Trendy Boutique in Shrewsbury

When I first entered Tula Boutique in Shrewsbury, NJ, I was in complete and utter awe. It’s basically a young girl’s shopping heaven. Stylish pieces of clothing and jewelry were just pulling at my arms- ‘come this way, no this way’! I honestly didn’t know which part of the store to check out first. It’s a pretty big store for a boutique, and they have so much to offer. The clothes are just beautiful and definitely stylish. I fell in love with the cocktail dresses. (Dresses are my weakness). They also have really hot bags along the back wall, jewelry and accessories and of course, shoes. I wanted everything. The racks were neatly arranged. At Tula, there’s no such thing as digging through packed racks of clothes thrown around. You will be able to easily see and find what you’re looking for. Trust me, you’ll find it at Tula.

Tula is having a sale for Labor Day on some of the designer brands they have: 70% off all summer shoes and clothing as well as great savings on AG, BB Daktoa, Paige Denim, Dolce Vita and more! So make sure you stop in the store if you’re at the Jersey Shore this coming Labor Day weekend.

Also, Tula has some new arrivals for those pretty feet! Be the first to grab a pair of Cynthia Vincent boots for the fall.

Royal Blue- The New Black

Ditch the classic black dress, pumps, (for now), etc. and spice up your life with some royal blue. This is such a gorgeous color and I’ve always been a fan. But lately, I’ve seen it popping up everywhere. On shoes, (bought my very own pair of royal blue wedges, so hot! and only $20 at Burlington Coat Factory), dresses, tops, even on nails! Check out some of my suggestions below. This color is perfect for the remainder of summer and even for the Fall/Winter. It’s a beautiful shade and will bring out the color of anyones eyes!

Don’t overdo it though. You don’t have to wear a royal blue dress with royal blue shoes to match. Let the dress be the focal point OR the shoes. You don’t want to be too matchy-matchy.

I am in love with skirts lately. Hike it up (not too high) and tuck in a loose, printed top in place of a dress.

Fall ’10 Trend Preview: The Mini Cowboy Boot

I was in the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD this past weekend, and while scoping the trends of the street, I noticed a few girls rockin’ little cowboy boots. They were like ankle boots; cowgirl style. They were both wearing them with jeans which will totally become a great trend for this coming Fall but for now, you can pair them with denim shorts. You won’t look as western as you would wearing knee-high cowboy boots so don’t be afraid to try this trend.

The boots below are from Steve Madden and come in cute colors such as black, white, or even red!

New Trend…No Pants?

Leave it to Gaga to start a new trend..it seems pantless bodysuits are the new thing in Hollywood. Celebs like Fergie to Christina Aguilera have been spotted in this getup, mostly in their music videos, but Gaga ain’t afraid to rock it on the red carpet…or anywhere for that matter. This trend is huge on the runways as well.

I mean, it’s basically like wearing a one piece bathing suit. I don’t think I’d actually sport this trend though, unless maybe I was on a tropical vacation, complete with an oversized hat and black sunglasses, eating brunch overlooking the beach at a posh resort. I think it would fit in that scenario.

Tell me, what do you think of going pantless?

Um, is that all she wears? She does have the legs for it though…

So, if you were to wear a bodysuit, what exactly would it be appropriate for? Leave your comments below!

Wild, Wild West

Get this look here.

The western look is another big trend sneaking its way into Spring 2010. Follow these tips so as to not look like you’re sporting a cowgirl costume for Halloween.

1. Go nude. Not literally. Opt for beige and tan shades like Alessandria Ambrossio’s outfit in the photo. Beige pants, an open tan vest, and throw some white in there for some contrast, so you don’t appear naked from afar. Very laid-back & country-like.

Sailorrr by Steve Madden $99.95

2. Skip the cowboy boots. This trend is for the spring, so put the boots on the back burner and get a pair of nude or brown wedges. They’ll go with everything and anything so you’ll get a lot of use out of them.

Burnout Tab Sleeve Cardigan $19.80 Forever 21

3. Keep it asymmetrical. Draped, asymmetrical tops are a big trend for spring. It’s a nice, casual look and it still gives that western care-free feel.

4. Skip on white pants. Beige is a safer alternative to white pants. You won’t worry as much about getting them dirty..okay a little bit but not as much as pure white! And beige or tan aren’t see through like white risks being.

Vicki Suede Fringe Vest $79.95 by Guess

5. Add some fringe. Fringe is popping up everywhere, which is a perfect touch for the Western look of course! Fringe on tops and vests looks hot, especially long sexy fringe like the Guess Vest pictured above.
