Robin’s Egg Blue Nail Polish

Robin’s Egg Blue, Tiffany’s Blue, Teal, whatever you want to call it, this light shade of blue is a hot nail color for Spring! Tons of brands are selling a version of this shade. Here are some more examples below. I got my Wet N Wild nail polish from Winn Dixie, (a grocery store) believe it or not. Find the following colors at Sephora, Sephora.com, Revlon.com, Nicolebyopi.com, Chanel.com, at any Walgreen’s, CVS, etc., or by googling the names on the bottles seen below.

Wet n Wild Wet Shine Nail Polish in Tickled Pink

You probably have already tried the baby pink lipstick trend, time to try it for nails! I have this nail polish myself, so I can assure you that all the following facts are true! First, it’s AFFORDABLE! Now, with my own experience, affordable, or um, cheap nail polishes always chip easily and do not apply smoothly. This polish wowed me! The polish lasted on my nails for about 5 days straight without a single chip! Not to mention, I wasn’t wearing any top coat over it! It is “Wild Shine” so I felt it didn’t really need a top coat anyway. But anyway, I use my fingers a lot, with typing especially.

Second, it dries super fast. It’s not even a fast dry formula and I found that it dried quickly and smoothly. Third, this polish is TRUE to the color you see in the bottle, even after one coat. It’s such a great color that goes with everything. I love this shade. Bright colors are always in but softer shades like this are great for work and are still very trendy.

Available at Walgreens! I got some more shades from Wet n Wild that are just as long-lasting and amazing!

The Hottest Trends Right Now

Mismatched Nails

There’s so many ways to go with this one, like having different designs on each nail or animal print decals and what not, but I kept it simple by painting every other nail pink and black. I kept my toenails plain pink though; didn’t want to go overboard. Send in photos of your mismatched nails to FashionFeenster@aol.com.

Leopard Print Shoes

Such a sexy print on a shoe! I was at the mall the other day and there was nothing but leopard print shoes in platforms, flats, and stilettos. These I tried on from Express. Oh how I wanted them. They are $69.90 at Express.com. They also come in a stiletto. Tip: Red toenails look HOT with leopard print shoes!

Feather Earrings

Especially peacock feathered earrings! Peacock colors are just beautiful! Forget the feather hair extensions and throw on some fun, big feathered earrings and just look like you have feathered hair extensions.

Glittered Converse Kicks

Totally diggin’ the sparkly Converse sneakers that are taking over shelves everywhere. They come in many colors such as glittery pink, black, blue, gold and more to spice up your casual look!

Skinny Belts

Out with the chunky belts worn at the waist and in with dainty, skinny belts in neutral colors placed around the belly button to add a feminine, tousled touch to blouses. I’ve seen a lot with a flower at the center but I like it more offset and small or else it looks silly having a big flower on ur belly button.

Stripes

Fairly thick, bold stripes are everywhere: on tops, skirts, even shoes. They look hot in a metallic blue pattern or even in a sexy lacy pattern as seen here on the model from Forever21.com. It works well when you combine the two as long as the stripes are going in the same direction. You don’t want people to get dizzy looking at you.

Jumpsuits

Long pant jumpsuits replace long dresses for nice evenings out on the town. Go as short as the ankle but no rompers..leave that for the summer time. Both wide legged and skinny legged jumpsuits are in. Add pretty pieces, a skinny belt, heels and a clutch to dress it up.

Sonya Kashuk Chip Resistant Polish Really Works!

So in my previous post I featured the Sonya Kashuk Fall 2010 nail polish line which is supposed to have this chip resistant formula. I polished my nails that night with the color I featured, “Starry Night,” which you can get at Target for only $4.99. Now for a such a low price, I didn’t think this nail polish would really be chip resistant. But it is! I’ve never had nail polish last for days without majorly chipping!

I must add that I did put a top coat over the polish. But I’ve done that with plenty of shades and my nails have still chipped in 1 measly day. 1 day! With Sonya Kashuk’s “Starry Night,” I’ve gone about my days normally, typing on the computer, going out dancing, working, always using my hands, and STILL it’s been 3 whole days and my nails have not chipped! Maybe in 1 tiny spot but that’s it! Like I said before, my nails usually chip in 1 good day. I get 1 day with nice nails and then I have to take the color off a day or 2 later because it looks like a mess. Not this time! An entire weekend with my nails looking as good as they did the day I polished them! I am amazed! I’d love to know their secret chip resistant formula!! Check out the proof:

I am seriously in amazed. It’s so nice to not have to worry about my nails for 3 days straight. Love this polish and will be buying more from Sonya Kashuk’s line. I can’t believe how cheap it is too! Go get yourself some Sonya Kashuk polish!

Black Nail Polish Goes Glam for Fall

Just add glitter and you’ve got an updated version of last year’s popular black nail fetish for Fall. It’s a much prettier and more of a rocker-glam look as opposed to the freakish solid black nails lots of celebs were sporting on the red carpet last year. Lots of new Fall nail shades are adding sparkle, and not in that little girl you babysit for who smudges her nails all over the carpet in 2 minutes sort of way! A light shimmer is all you need to add instant glam to all your favorite dark shades for the Fall season.

The shade pictured here is called “Starry Night” by Sonia Kashuk. I bought it myself and am currently sporting it as I sit here and rave about it. Sonia Kashuk’s Fall 2010 line promises a new chip-resistant formula with high shine that will keep you looking fashionable from fingers to toes. It is available at Target for only $4.99! Royal Blue- The New Black

Ditch the classic black dress, pumps, (for now), etc. and spice up your life with some royal blue. This is such a gorgeous color and I’ve always been a fan. But lately, I’ve seen it popping up everywhere. On shoes, (bought my very own pair of royal blue wedges, so hot! and only $20 at Burlington Coat Factory), dresses, tops, even on nails! Check out some of my suggestions below. This color is perfect for the remainder of summer and even for the Fall/Winter. It’s a beautiful shade and will bring out the color of anyones eyes!

Don’t overdo it though. You don’t have to wear a royal blue dress with royal blue shoes to match. Let the dress be the focal point OR the shoes. You don’t want to be too matchy-matchy.

Ruched Strapless Party Dress – Bebe

Caryssa Platform Shoe – Steve Madden

Shark Bite Tank – Express

Blue My Mind – Opi

Solid Knit Skirt – Forever 21

I am in love with skirts lately. Hike it up (not too high) and tuck in a loose, printed top in place of a dress.

Fashion Feen’s Fave Nail Polish Shades for Summer 2010

I don’t know about you..but when it’s summer and I wear nothing but open toed sandals, pumps, and flip flops, I don’t let a day go by without having my toenails painted. No one shall see my bare naked toes! My nails, not so much. I’d love to have them painted constantly but they are tougher to keep up. Getting a lasting manicure every few weeks adds up. But anyway, here are some of my favorite nail shades of summer!

Opi – The It Color  www.opi.com

A sunflower yellow shade is gorgeous paired with a pretty summer dress and sandals. Trade in your neon yellow for this softer yellow shade.

Revlon – Red Hot Tamale  www.revlon.com

A sexy red/orange shade is hot this summer. Brights never go out of style. Spice up any look with this shade.

Sephora by Opi – Arm Candy  www.sephora.com

Bring out your inner Barbie with this juicy hot pink color and any boy would love to have you as his arm candy. ;)

Maybelline Express Finish – Timely Turquoise  www.maybelline.com

Ahhh..this beautiful shade of blue makes me want to sail away in the Caribbean..I’m relaxed just looking at it.

Essie – Pretty Edgy  www.essie.com

I love deep shades of emerald green that remind me of beautiful peacock feathers. Green is a nice color if it’s not in neon. It’s also jungle-sexy. Not to mention it brings out my eyes.

Vampy Nails for Fall/Winter

Think dark, sexy, but not gothic. When the winter months come, it’s an excuse to rock some dark shades on your fingers and toes, and get away with it. I’m still a sucker for black, but there are some alternatives if you don’t want to go that dark. Dark shades of blue, purple, brown, or green are all in this season and go with any outfit.

Also, short nails are in. A short, rounded or squared nail is simple, classic, and requires less upkeep! You won’t have to worry about your nails constantly breaking and being different lengths, if you keep them just above the tip of your finger. They look nicer than super long claws! PLUS, they offset the bold nail shades!

Jennifer sports a dark violet shade.

Eva in dark blue.

Spice up your deep nail shade with some sparkle! Metallic shades are super hot this coming winter! Even gold shades. Here are some of my favorite picks:

Such a beautiful wintery shade! Dior Vernis Nail Polish – Silver Purple 782

A Twist on the Typical French Manicure..

I love Cosmopolitan Magazine. If you didn’t already read it, they had a feature on being wild with your look to give you a boost of confidence and one look I loved was the french manicure..with different colors. I tried the black nail with silver tip they showed in the magazine..check it out. It’s hot! You can do all types of colors, choose opposites or two shades from the same family…like hot pink with a baby pink tip or vice versa. Gold and black, gold and brown, silver and black, chocolate brown with tan, deep violet with lilac…the list goes on! Have fun with it!

Bask in Bronze

Adriana Lima is my favorite example of the ultimate bronze goddess!

Summer is the ultimate excuse to go bronze, and not just with a tan, but with makeup and clothes too! I love the whole sun-kissed, peachy, glowing look and I can only pull it off in the summer. From peachy kissed lips to gold bangled bracelets and coral tops that brighten your whole face, I just can’t get enough! I rounded up a few key pieces and must-haves so you can create your own sun-kissed look and instantly make you glow from head to toe!

For a natural glow to your face, try Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Bronzer in Sunkissed. I’ve used this before and it’s one of my faves! Find it at Target.

For juicy, peachy lips, try the New Aqualumiere Gloss line by Chanel…I cannot find the name of this color for the life of me..if you find it, let me know!

Add sparkle to your night look with flashy gold ear candy! Filigree Crescent Earrings only $4.80 by Forever21.

Stand out in a bright hue that will instantly bring out the color in your face! Try this blushy, coral top that’s so damn pretty! Crochet Chiffon Top by Forever 21 for $22.80

Don’t forget your nails! Always a great accessory to any outfit, paint your nails in a bronzey shade that stands out but is still neutral enough to match any outfit.
