Has High-Fashion Runway Shows Turned into Peep Shows?

Just recently, I saw an article about how yesterday’s Dior Runway Show in Paris ended with a peek of 19 year old model, Karlie Kloss’s bare-naked butt. Here’s the photo to prove it:

I mean, it’s a beautiful sheer skirt and I see that the point is to show what’s underneath but why can’t they sew in a panty to match the dress like they do in ballroom dance competition dresses?

We condemn Lindsey Lohan and other celebs for showing their stuff for the world to see yet we allow models to walk down the runway showing their boobs and butts like it’s nothing? No one in their right mind should be walking around in public like that so why would you model a dress in that way? What happened to showing how undergarments can enhance and flatter the shape of an outfit? You don’t want everything to hang loose underneath; that is so NOT flattering or fashionable even if you have a model body. Come on now.

I’ve seen this nakedness on the runway plenty of times, usually with the models being braless under sheer tops. Here are some examples:

The whole point is to show how sheer tops can be worn in many different ways to be stylish and sexy by showing a little skin but not ALL of it. You can wear a simple tank underneath and let the arms and shoulders be the revealed part or wear a bandeau top underneath to go for a beach sexy look and show some tummy. Showing off your nipples is going just a bit too far. Just a bit.

New Trend…No Pants?

Leave it to Gaga to start a new trend..it seems pantless bodysuits are the new thing in Hollywood. Celebs like Fergie to Christina Aguilera have been spotted in this getup, mostly in their music videos, but Gaga ain’t afraid to rock it on the red carpet…or anywhere for that matter. This trend is huge on the runways as well.

I mean, it’s basically like wearing a one piece bathing suit. I don’t think I’d actually sport this trend though, unless maybe I was on a tropical vacation, complete with an oversized hat and black sunglasses, eating brunch overlooking the beach at a posh resort. I think it would fit in that scenario.

Tell me, what do you think of going pantless?

Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2009

I look forward to this show every year! The Black Eyed Peas performed at the fashion show held in New York this year. This show was especially unique and cool, with many different fun themes and bright colors, with futuristic wings and things. The Pink line was super cute, with hot colors, prints, sequins and glitter. I especially loved the peacock look and the enchanted forest outfits. I am also very happy for Kylie who became the new Victoria Secret Angel and got to strut her stuff for the first time last night! She is beautiful and has the perfect VS Angel look. Always nice to see a fresh face! Check out some of the pictures from last night.

That’s right. It’s our turn to strut our stuff! America’s Next Top Model is casting for Cycle 13 right now for girls 5’7 AND UNDER! Next season is for the short girls! I’m so excited because I have always wanted to be on this show and I’m only 5’5. So now, I’m eligible and will be attending the casting this Saturday, March 14 in New York. Sneak Peak at the Victoria’s Secret Annual Holiday Fashion Show

You’d never think this woman had any kids..she looks amazing! Heidi Klum walks the runway at the annual Victoria’s Secret Holiday Fashion Show which took place at the Fontainebleau on November 15, 2008 in Miami Beach, Florida. The show will air on CBS on December 3rd. 

I think it’s so creative, that big, beautiful red bow they stuck on Heidi as if she were a sexy little present! It’s a nice twist since we’re so used to seeing the models in those signature angel wings! Check out some of the photos below and be sure to watch it on CBS, Dec. 3rd, 2008!

JT for Fashion: William Rast

So Justin Timberlake has added to the many celebs that have a clothing line. I really like his approach though. Him and childhood friend, Trace Ayala combined their grandfather’s names to form “William Rast.” It started with just a men’s line but has now branched into a women’s line as well for the Fall with a new campaign. Check it out.

I think he makes a good model. And she’s beautiful, always see her in the Maybelline ads. 

This line is very rugged, a country casual style like their hometown of Tennessee. Check out some of the clothing.

Fashion Week: Day 3- Bubble Dresses & Vibrant Hues

Sporty just got sexy! Check out the pink rockstar tee with layered necklaces for feminine appeal. Then there’s the baggy pants, not a fan but the sneaker/shoes of all three looks..LOVE THEM! I wish I could see the sides of them, they look to me like laced up sneakers in ankle boot form. It really looks like there’s a heel or platform to them. I am now on a hunt for a pair and will get back to you when I find shoes that resemble these and where to buy them! I was never a fan of bubble dresses but these super short slightly less of a bubble dresses in vibrant, sporty hues are hot! The print on the middle one is gorgeous, and that bow, fun and trendy! I think a blazer that reaches the end of the dress goes great with this look for the chilly, beginning days of Spring. 

I’m trying to figure out beauty and hair trends for Spring 2009 but so far on the runway, I have seen very carefree looks. Not a lot of makeup, if there is, it’s dark lined eyes with neutral lips. Loose, natural hair, down and simple or sweeped half way up. Nothing too fancy! Very fuss free for Spring!

Diane von Furstenberg

So what do you think of Diane’s rockstar/hippie look inspired by Diana Vreeland? I’m not a fan of the hippie look but this is unique. The colors are vibrant shades of magenta and violet, as opposed to the drab, usual brown and orange shades of hippie styles. Long, natural waves of hair brushed out of your face with goddess/fairy-like headbands is pretty for Spring. I like the strappy laced up shoes. Their eyes stand out lined and shaded a bit with the colorful headbands. The models seem happy with their little grins. Your comments on these two designers’ trends for Spring?

Fashion Week: Day 2- Lots of Brights & Skin

They’re all wearing the same shoe! lol I guess they go with everything then. I’m loving all these bright juicy hues mixed together! The pink and peach go together because they are of the same brightness. That’s how it works when mixing colors. You can’t mix a pastel and a neon, got it? Good! 

The sexy sequined tops for Spring are hot too. I love how they mixed them with sweats and more casual clothing, it really spices up the look and adds a sexy, fierceness. 

The color block dress with the colors in angles is really fun too. Switches it up a bit instead of the basic horizontal color block dress of yesterday.

Notice the slicked back half up and half down look with the bottom half filled with loose, natural waves. This look will look great with a bandana tied back or a hat like the first model.

More slicked hair and bright colors! Stockings in bright shades are hot for Spring 09, especially when it’s the beginning of the season and it’s still a bit chilly out, but you just can’t wait to whip out your spring clothes! The cut out, almost to the ankle shoes are still in but in springy, easter egg shades! 

More color block dresses and looks but in springy hues. Fun bow ties and these shades make for a sportier look.

A easter egg yellow is in, notice, not neon!! This is almost like a pastel yellow, not too bright but it still screams “Spring is here!” Love it.
