Who has seen Crazy, Stupid Love starring Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell? Well if you haven’t, here’s a quick summary on why this movie relates to fashion: Ryan Gosling’s character gives Steve Carell’s character a major makeover in order to score the ladies again and gain confidence when he is about to lose his wife in a divorce. Inspired by this movie and the hunky Ryan Gosling, I pledge to give you the fashion lowdown on how to look 10 years younger for all the males out there stuck in a style rut.
Let’s be honest, most men don’t have a clue about style. Not all, I said most, now stop scowling at me guys!
You may think most middle-aged men are not so stylish but I have seen plenty of youngins in their twenties and thirties looking older than a 40 year old thanks to faded at the knee jeans, baggy polo tees and running sneakers. See example below:
Not only do you look nerdy and older, fellas, but you also appear shy, boring, not confident and definitely not interesting. Ouch! Changing your style will not only make you look better, but it will make you FEEL better and more confident and that’s what counts! Fashion is all about how you feel and expressing it! Girls like men who are confident and vice versa, but if you’re feeling shy and insecure, chances are your outfit is screaming it too!
The way to appear stylish with tops is with layers! Winter is the best season to get away with wearing layers without worrying about sweating so much!
Sweaters over collared shirts, cardigans over button downs, topped off with ties, colors and prints, (plaid is trendy). Wear them fitted, not oversized and baggy and roll up the sleeves for a cooler look. See examples below:
Ay yi yi, lose the plain, faded Levi’s and add some cool dark denim and distressed/ripped denim to your wardrobe for a more stylish, younger look. White jeans are hot too for the spring!
Dad jeans:
Handsome lad jeans:
Running shoes are for running, not style! They don’t look cool with jeans and a tee. High tops are cool if you like urban style, converse are cool if you’re skater or preppy, and hiker boots are cool if you’re edgy.
Suits should be fitted with the pants slim. You want to appear long and lean (like Ryan Gosling) not short and frumpy (like Danny Devito). Dark blue or gray suits are super sexy and more stylish than black but of course you can’t ever go wrong with black. Tie optional depending on the look you’re going for. Bow ties are super gentleman status for any age as well.

Fedora hats are hot right now and so are geek glasses (I know it’s kind of hypocritical to say geek glasses are not geeky but today they are seen on both male and female celebs, such as David Beckham, Jay-Z, and more.)
I hope this helped all my men out there. I wanted to give you a quick overview of different categories of clothing, straight to the point. These quick and simple changes will change your look and confidence by a landslide.
All of these suggestions do work for all ages. Men in their 40s or 20s can rock hiker boots. Marc Anthony has a whole collection for Kohl’s, including hiker boots and he’s definitely not 20 something. Same goes for layers, suits, and hats and glasses. David Beckham IS in fact a soccer dad, and look how young and trendy he looks in geek glasses! I wouldn’t suggest ripped jeans for middle aged men but there’s nothing wrong with a nice, dark denim. Super handsome at any age!
Decided to make yourself over with my suggestions? Send me a before and after pic and you may be featured on a future post!
We know varsity/baseball jackets are in right now but now we have a varsity cardigan which layers lovely over a button up and tie for a sporty/gentleman look. The bright colors are cool, especially when it picks up colors from the tie peeking from underneath.

What you wear obviously has little to do with how much you win or lose playing blackjack during your next big trip to a gambling hotspot such as Las Vegas, but the chance to do a little (or a lot) of shopping for a new gambling wardrobe shouldn’t be passed up. Las Vegas is not only one of the world’s top gambling destinations but fashionistas and shopping fans will have plenty to enjoy as well.
Vegas has diversified over the years to position itself as a one-stop destination for millions of tourists and visitors from around the world. Not only do plenty of the world’s top restaurants and clubs call Vegas home now but also some of the best shopping, with Caesar’s, the Venetian, and the Bellagio offering amazing shopping that you can enjoy without ever stepping foot outside the hotel — an important perk due to the extreme heat in Vegas during the summer.
If you’re willing to stray a bit off the Strip there are also numerous malls and outlets in Vegas just a short cab ride away. Fashion Outlets of Las Vegas is about a ten minute cab ride from most Strip casinos and offers substantial discounts from retailers such as Coach, Burberry, Versace and Last Call for Neiman Marcus and Michael Kors. Las Vegas Premium Outlets is another shopping mecca and just a quick 10-15 minute cab ride from the Strip towards downtown Las Vegas.
While casino online players never have to worry about what to wear when gambling, you should keep a few considerations in mind as far as what to wear at the tables. First thing first, pretty much anything goes as far as fashion in Las Vegas, so it really boils down to personal style and fashion. If you’re a poker player, keep in mind that any poker rooms in Vegas are very cold and you could spend hours on end at the tables, so dressing for comfort usually trumps dressing for style at the poker tables.
I helped the girls out, now it’s the guys’ turn. Color is big with guys too as well as cardigans and the preppy, layered look.
Love this rustic red shade pull over sweater with pockets by Marc Ecko.
Royal blue looks good on anybody, what a great shade. Doesn’t look half bad with a graphic tee underneath. Armani Exchange
This plaid sweater by Lucky Brand reminds me of a rustic, country boy in hiker boots and messy hair, kind of like the model actually. It’s different.
This Ralph Lauren polo sweater from Macy’s comes in many cool colors but I can’t choose between the pink or emerald green as my favorite. Two gorgeous shades that look great layered over a plaid button down.
Can’t go wrong with a Sean John cardigan. Total geek hot.
I just had to post about these guys again because my last post about them, see “Mindless Behavior Talks Fashion” has been one of the most popular posts for the past few weeks, loaded with tons of “I love you Ray Ray! They’re mine, no they’re mine!” comments from teenage girls from all over. These guys are blowing up and boy do they have swag and style for only 13 years old! If it wasn’t for their boyish faces, they could fool you for 18.
I like how they all come together as a group style-wise in this photo. They all match with khaki pants, red belts and red high tops but from the top up they have their own individual style that is super trendy yet still clean and put together. This look can be dressed down with a hoodie and fitted like Roc Royal seen all the way to the right with a “no fuss” attitude. Still super stylin though! Then you have Princeton with a popped-collared tee shirt half tucked in, a long boldly-striped tie thrown over and hair let loose..super cool. This look is hot right now. I see so many celebs with that “I’m a gentleman, but I just threw this on cuz I’m in a rush” look. So try the half tucked in shirt look but after you leave the house because mama might yell.
Prodigy rocks that cardigan sweater look which went from nerdy to totally G, and Ray Ray goes for the layered look, complete with a a half buttoned khaki jacket with flannel hoodie poking out, and rolled-up sleeves.
Four different looks with the ultimate swag status…ready to break little girl’s hearts all over the world.

I love when guys look all nice and polished in a button down and then roll up their sleeves like they’re about to do some work. Perfectly primped is boring! A little messiness adds edge and a coolness factor. You don’t want to perfectly roll up your sleeves to match in size on both sides but just push them up and you’re good to go.

They’ve got classy, double breasted pea coats for you pretty boys, military style jackets for the structured ones, baseball jackets for the jocks, and quilted jackets for you city guys. I’m still a sucker for guys in fitteds but the snapback style is coming back and I can dig it.
Thanks to the runway models and celebs like Pharrell and Kanye West, geek glasses are cool again. They look hot on a preppy look like the model shown here or on a casual or urban look like Pharrell wears here.

Great way to dress up any look is to add a cardigan. Cardigans in bright colors are hot right now too. Throw it over a nice button up with a tie, layers make every look more stylish.
Long trench coats are hot right now and I love seeing them paired with boots such as the ones below. They’re super stylish and total gentleman status. Try poppin the collar for a cooler look.

Laced up hiker boots add a bad boy touch to any outfit. I especially love when the celebs rock them on the red carpet in all black with suits and ties, adds an edge!

This look is everywhere! It’s all about the thin cuffed jeans or slacks, no more thick cuffs. It looks cool with dress shoes, loafers or boots. Just cuff it twice to show a little ankle, no higher!

The always well-dressed and handsome Ryan Gosling attended the LA Film Festival at Regal Cinemas L.A. on Friday, June 17th for the premiere of his upcoming film “Drive” sporting a gorgeous dark blue suit that brings out his baby blues with a crisp white shirt underneath…no need for a tie to complete this look! Although, he is wearing bright red socks… it’s not the 4th of July yet Ryan!
I’ll let him get away with it though because he’s sexy. Now excuse mewhile I drool while watching Fracture which I just rented because he’s in it. Hehe.
Those socks blend in with the red carpet perfectly. Lol.
