Retire the Bodysuit, Celebs

Lady Gaga brought back this Madonna look last year but I think it’s time we retire it. Yes, the bodysuit is a great costume for performing, especially when it’s all sequined and glittery and topped with some thigh high boots. But I think this pantless look should not migrate into the streets or red carpet. Can we put on some sexy high waisted shorts and let the top of the bodysuit stick out like a corset? Still sexy without showing us your big booties and thighs. I’m over it! What do you think?

Rihanna makes the bodysuit casual with a sailor striped shirt when she recently performed. I don’t dig it. I don’t think a casual long sleeved striped shirt with a bodysuit and fishnets goes.

Snooki Goes to Jail in Style in Italy

Surprise surprise.. Snooki gets into trouble and goes to jail again by crashing into a cop car in Italy. At least she went lookin’ like a lil G! I searched high and low to find studded chain sunglasses like Snooki’s but the closest I could find was plain old chained shades. Good enough! Gaga Carried onto the Grammys 2011 Red Carpet In an Egg

Sorry I have been gone for awhile. I completely missed the Grammys. But hear me out! I just moved to South Florida for a job a few months ago and I also just moved into an apartment. Everything is new and exciting right now, as well as super busy, and I didn’t get internet in my apartment until this week. Or cable. Actually I am getting cable this week. So back to blogging…finally! Sorry my Fashion Feen readers!! I hope you forgive me!

Now, I shall touch on the subject everybody has been talking about for the past week. Yeah, yeah, Lady Gaga arrived to the Grammys this year, in a freaking egg. She had supermodels carrying her in. We all heard about it. Are you surprised? I wonder if it’s her or her people, or both, who come up with these ideas on how to be more shocking than the last time. What will they come up with next? So, what was she wearing in there? That’s what I want to know, yet I can’t find one single picture of her “hatching,” shall I say, because everyone is so obsessed with the fact that she was in an egg. How did she breathe in there anyway?

I’m curious to know what statement she was trying to make this time.

Nicki Minaj seems to be a Lady Gaga fashion follower as well. I swear, does every celebrity have to be so darn outrageously dressed? Can’t anyone just look normal and classy like Jennifer Aniston always does? Keep it simple! She gets just as much media attention looking normal! And what’s up with the Frankenstein hair?! Ay yi yi! I’m so over it!

Has the VMA’s Turned into Halloween?

Honestly, all the female stars do not know how to dress for an awards show. I realize Lady Gaga is always trying to make a statement, and what better way to get the word out than wearing a meat dress to the VMA’s when you’re one of the biggest stars there? But, what statement are the rest of them trying to make? What’s with the hot pink and blue extensions? New trend? I’m not feeling it. It’s great for Halloween but this is not Halloween. I feel like most of the females on the red carpet wear straight up costumes. Katy Perry for one. She is a beautiful girl and I think she looks great, but tell me, how does pink and blue hair extensions match a black and white lacy dress? It doesn’t go. The dress and the hair are trying to pull of two very different looks.

Not to mention, it looks like an costume an ice skater would wear. What happened to looking classy and glamorous in a more simple gown like Ashley Greene pictured below.

Beautifully highlighted hair, a great cocktail dress, and some black heels. Her look is pulled together and she looks attractive whereas some of the other female stars look plain silly.

Lady Gaga is Not a Piece of Meat

As if Lady Gaga doesn’t get enough attention from her outrageous “make a statement” get-ups, she sported a bikini made of meat on the cover of Vogue Hommes Japan. One meaty outfit didn’t seem to do the trick so she wore a dress also made of meat to this year’s 2010 MTV VMA’s, (one of the many outfits she wore for the night.) She wore this on stage as she accepted one of eight awards for the night. You go girl.

Gaga appeared on the season opener of Ellen DeGeneres, (who happens to be vegan) and asked her what statement she was trying to make by wearing the meat dress and bikini. “Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth,” said Gaga. “However, it has many interpretations but for me this evening. If we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.” The very humorous Ellen then presented her with a veggie bikini and told her to try that next time she wants to make a statement.

New Trend…No Pants?

Leave it to Gaga to start a new trend..it seems pantless bodysuits are the new thing in Hollywood. Celebs like Fergie to Christina Aguilera have been spotted in this getup, mostly in their music videos, but Gaga ain’t afraid to rock it on the red carpet…or anywhere for that matter. This trend is huge on the runways as well.

I mean, it’s basically like wearing a one piece bathing suit. I don’t think I’d actually sport this trend though, unless maybe I was on a tropical vacation, complete with an oversized hat and black sunglasses, eating brunch overlooking the beach at a posh resort. I think it would fit in that scenario.

Tell me, what do you think of going pantless?

Um, is that all she wears? She does have the legs for it though…
