Feather Trend

The feather trend is popping up everywhere, on celebrities, on stylish girls in the streets, in hair salons. Headbands are decorated with them, earrings, and they even have cool feather hair extensions you can get put into your hair in many colors and animal prints like Kesha’s (above) at your local salon. Check out some of these photos of feather hair extensions. What do you think of the trend? Would you try it?

Get Blake Lively’s Hair

Friggen gorgeous locks of hair! To get this look, spritz a texturizing spray throughout hair while wet. Blow dry with a round brush. Then, apply a curling iron to hair, but let go of the iron quickly, rather than holding the curl for a few seconds, in order to create waves instead of tight curls. Run fingers through hair to break up curls. Also, braid and twist sections of hair from the top of head, letting the ends run loose into the rest of your hair. So young and fresh!

Fashion Week: Day 2- Lots of Brights & Skin

Alexander Wang, Fashion Week Day 2

They’re all wearing the same shoe! lol I guess they go with everything then. I’m loving all these bright juicy hues mixed together! The pink and peach go together because they are of the same brightness. That’s how it works when mixing colors. You can’t mix a pastel and a neon, got it? Good!

The sexy sequined tops for Spring are hot too. I love how they mixed them with sweats and more casual clothing, it really spices up the look and adds a sexy, fierceness.

The color block dress with the colors in angles is really fun too. Switches it up a bit instead of the basic horizontal color block dress of yesterday.

Notice the slicked back half up and half down look with the bottom half filled with loose, natural waves. This look will look great with a bandana tied back or a hat like the first model.

designer Laura Poretzky

More slicked hair and bright colors! Stockings in bright shades are hot for Spring 09, especially when it’s the beginning of the season and it’s still a bit chilly out, but you just can’t wait to whip out your spring clothes! The cut out, almost to the ankle shoes are still in but in springy, easter egg shades!

More color block dresses and looks but in springy hues. Fun bow ties and these shades make for a sportier look.

A easter egg yellow is in, notice, not neon!! This is almost like a pastel yellow, not too bright but it still screams “Spring is here!” Love it.

Hairstyles of The Hills

These girls just love the braided look. Lauren’s always sporting a braided headband look or a side braid to one side at the top of her head. Whitney also likes to wear her hair in a braided hippie look, creating almost a headband. Ever try this look yourself? It’s easy to pull off! For Lauren’s look, just part your hair to one side and take about a one inch section at the front of her hair, and braid it only halfway. Secure with a band that matches your hair. Wa la!

For Whitney’s look, part hair in the middle. Braid or twist sections on both sides of your head and pull together to make the ends meet in the back. Secure both braids in the back.

Posh is Back to Her Roots

Victoria Beckham is back to her brunette roots, with a short, stylish pixy cut. What do you think of her new look?

Here she is sitting next to Jennifer Lopez at Fashion Week.

I personally love her as a brunette but I liked her blonde cut better, with that long side bang in the front, and short in the back. Your opinion?

Spice Up That School Uniform!

This is for the teenagers that may read this blog! Some schools have boring school uniforms. How are you supposed to show off your personality and fashion sense when you look like everybody else? Well, you can just by accessorizing!

Hair:

Try a new do. Wear your hair down in flirty loose waves. Use a curling iron but don’t hold the curl for too long, to create looser waves.

Add a fun, colorful headband to your hair! Or make one with your own hair by braiding your hair from one side of your head to the other and wrapping it over to the other side, securing underneath.

Nails:

Wear a brightly colored hue on your nails to really make you stand out! Neon nails are hot right now. Any color goes! So have fun with it.

Have fun with your nails, add gemstones and fun designs. French manicures using different colors such as black and white, or hot pink and baby pink, are a fun twist to the classic beige and white french manicure.

Accessories:

Celebs have been rockin’ “summer scarves” all season but they are a perfect accessory to your boring school uniform for Fall. You will look instantly stylish!

Knee socks in fun colors are what a lot of teens wear to make their personalities & fashion sense shine when it comes to their school uniforms. Buy a fun striped or plaid pair!

Costume jewelry is a great accessory to spruce up your uniform. From dangling earrings, to long, layered necklaces, and big bangled bracelets…

Shoes:

Try some funky converse sneaks or other printed and brightly colored kicks. Or cute flats!

The New Short Do

Taylor Momsen (Jenny on Gossip Girl)

Celebs are sportin’ short hairstyles left and right. The long bob is one, with hair parted to the side, all one length, and sweeping the top of shoulders. Another is the curly bob, basically the long bob but curled! So don’t fret, there’s different things you can do with your hair even if it’s on the shorter side. It’s a more modern twist on the Marilyn Monroe curly bob. Rihanna is the most daring, sporting a super short cropped do, she curls it from time to time and other times leaves it straight and messy. I am not a huge fan of super short hair but she definitely pulls it off and still keeps it interesting and fun by doing different things with it.

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful…Hairstyles

Now that Summer is gettin’ as hot as it can get, and there’s tons of parties and bbqs outside all day that run into the night, the last thing you want to worry about is your hair. I’m sure lots of you have hair that turns wavy once the humidity hits it..so updo’s that are easy and simple, but still stylish are the way to go. Put that hair up and show off some trendy earrings..check out one of my latest posts (Ear Candy) for some cute ones. Sure to dress up that updo!

Celebs are even pulling off these simple hairstyles on the red carpet! It seriously looks like the just rushed home from work and threw their hair up, but it still looks glamorous! Check these out from cosmopolitan.com.

Go to cosmopolitan.com for details on how to get these looks. But basically, they are either a ponytail, bun, or braid. All you do is spray some styling mousse or volumizing mousse for some volume and texture, let your hair dry natural for some waves or use a curling iron for a few pieces, and throw it back, letting hair tendrils fall out around your face naturally. Or do a french braid, a messy one! Perfection is out!

Also, for some extra glam, put on a trendy headband like Scarlett or earrings like I said before. Instant glam!

The Ponytail..revamped

Ponytails are the look this season, and you should be glad because it’s a no fuss, simple yet sexy look that anyone can pull off for the warm weather! I’m especially diggin’ the high, super-sleek ponytail that celebs and models are sportin’ on the runway and red carpet. I wanted my hair to be a really long pony, and since the higher my hair is up, the shorter my pony gets, I actually went out and bought a clip-in pony tail! It seriously looks real though. So if you wish your hair was longer, or straighter, or curlier for that matter, buy a clip-in pony tail to clip in over your actual ponytail. I bought a straight one and a curly one off of Ebay so you don’t have to spend a lot. The are synthetic but they look real and they’re hot! Anyways, if you want to use your natural hair, pull it up into a high pony tail after you straighten or curl your hair, whichever look you want, and secure with an elastic. Grab a section of hair about an inch thick and just wrap it around your elastic to hide it, and bobby pin it or tuck it into your elastic to hold.

Pony tails can be fancy too. Curl your hair with a curling iron and then sweep into a low pony tail. Don’t secure it super tight..leave loose and pull up some hair at the top for volume and height like Katherine Hiegel. Or tease hair at the crown and comb back like Jessica Simpson, and leave some tendrils out in front.
