What to Wear to a Spring/Summer Wedding

For a warm weather wedding, you can get away with a short dress as long as it’s a tasteful cocktail dress and not a club/party dress. Asymmetrical dresses are great for weddings and maxi dresses are elegant as well. You can do a summery floral print dress but make sure it’s a maxi since floor length or calf length appears more formal. Sheer, delicate fabrics are great for summer weddings as well. They’re airy for the warm weather, yet very classy. Check out some of these great dresses I found!

Trends in Bridesmaid Dresses for Spring/Summer 2012

Morilee.com

It’s wedding season and I decided to do something for the bridesmaids. Colors that are hot this season are bright: yellow, fuchsia, amethyst apple green, and clementine orange. I’m favoring the orange! It’s a trend in clothing too. For Spring and Summer, floor length gowns are a little too much, so opt for knee length cocktail dresses. I’m not a fan of the bubble dresses, everyone wears them so dare to be different! Another trendy option is when bridesmaids all wear the same color dress but a different style, maybe one strapless, a one strapped, different cuts or lengths. Here are some great options:

One of my fave colors..love this style too. Alfred Angelo

Shoe tip: Like the models in these photos, when you have a brightly colored dress, it’s best to keep the shoes neutral and simple as to not overdue it.

Dazzle in Your Homecoming Dress for Under $100!

What an exciting time of year! The holidays are coming up, football season is up and running and it’s Homecoming for all of you still in school. I remember when I was in high school, and there weren’t many styles you could wear for school dances. It was usually a long gown or you weren’t dressed up enough. Nowadays there’s so many styles of dresses, and cocktail dresses are just as appropriate as a long gown. Actually, more girls are opting for the short dress as opposed to the long gown for fear of overdoing it or looking like a bride.

Glitzy, sparkly, strapless, ruffled, printed, one shouldered and short poofy 80′s inspired prom dresses are the hottest trends for Homecoming this year. Check out some great affordable looks because Homecoming is right around the corner! I apologize if Homecoming has already passed for you, but these dresses are just as perfect for holiday parties and the New Year!

Look like a celebrity in this dazzling, pink, sequined three quarter-sleeved dress! Only $85 at LuLu’s!

Fashion Report: The Jersey Shore Girls at the 2011 VMA’s

Well, I must say the Jersey Shore girls cleaned up pretty nicely for the VMA’s, considering that I’ve witnessed the tacky, cheap club outfits,  and boobs hanging out and what not since the show was taped in my hometown.  There’s nothing I hate more than boardwalk clothes, with ripped/slashed tee shirts and glittery animal print dresses that go up when you dance all sexy. I’ve seen enough of that so it’s nice to see the girls stepped up their game a little bit. Yes, just a little because they still stuck with tight, short, glittery, sequined, animal print, nightclub style dresses buttttt it’s a bit more glam so I’ll give them points for that.

Seriously, I think we should consider retiring animal print, especially for cocktail dresses because party girls have turned the trend into nightclub party animal (literally), trashiness.

Other than that, I’ve seen J Wow model in some magazines in long gowns and I must say she looks classy and beautiful when she’s not flaunting her ridiculous boobs. She has a pretty face and doesn’t need the boobs to get attention. I wish she would have opted for a classier gown for this event to show that side of her. Because of that, I have to say that Sammi takes home the prize for the best dressed of the Jersey Shore cast. I will let the animal print slide this time because she looks classy and goregous with her curls. Less is always more.

So the CONCLUSION is:

Animal print dresses should retire.

Less is more.

No need for big, fake boobs when you have a pretty face. Girls be happy with what you got.

Sammi is the best dressed (in my opinion) among the Jersey Shore girls.

Deena only wore that dress to get attention because she’s the least popular character on the show and it worked because everyone is singling her out as “Rainbow Brite of the Jersey Shore” in their blogs.

Wear Your LBD (Little Black Dress) Anywhere

Jill Stuart

Instead of buying one of those cocktail dresses that are connected to a tank or tee, make your own! Get out your little black dresses (or any cocktail mini dress) that you have been saving for evenings out or for warmer weather, and tuck a tank top, tee shirt, or a a fitted long-sleeved shirt underneath it. This look works best with a strapless dress like the one pictured above. Pair with funky stockings to spice it up or over the knee boots.

This look is perfect if you’re just dying to wear your little dresses but it’s still chilly out..Spring may come in March but it sure doesn’t feel like it until at least May! Not only that, now you can get away with wearing your mini dress to the office! Or anywhere for that matter. Who says dresses are only for weddings and nights on the town?

Best Cocktail Dresses for the New Year

New Year’s Eve is tomorrow and if you have an exciting night planned, you’re going to need a hot dress! I already know I’m on a budget so I’m not buying anything new, but sticking with the typical (but never fails!) little black dress. It’s strapless & above the knee and I might throw in some textured stockings. I’m wearing my over the knee boots with it. Hopefully it comes together!

Here are some new and fun prints and styles that’ll definitely make that cute boy across the room notice you (even if it is crowded!) Hey maybe you’ll even snag a midnight kiss. ;)

Happy New Year!

Ahh, more colorful sequins! She looks like a mermaid, <3 it!
