Has the Wedge Sandal Gone Too Far?

Wedges are definitely a popular and stylish sort of sandal. I know I love them for the warm weather and have a few cute pairs myself. But, do you think the wedge has gone a little too far? Maybe watched a few too many Lady Gaga’s videos? Possibly trying to bring the runway to the street but failing miserably? See below what I mean.

Introducing the Alexa Leopard Wedge Sandal by Bebe. I mean to me, personally, it looks more like a handbag with a hole in it. Maybe it’s a bit much because of the print that bleeds on over to the heel. Here is the same shoe in black to see if that is the problem:

A lot more classier in a solid color, well in black at least. But still, very very clunky for my taste.

What do you all think? Would you wear the leopard wedge sandal or stick with black? Neither?

All About Bows

Bows are everywhere right now! On shoes, bags, headbands, tops… I wonder if Lady Gaga was the inspiration?

I shopped around and gathered my fave accessories & apparel with a trendy bow touch.

The One-Shoulder Look is Back

For Fall, the one-shoulder look is back, especially for dresses! Keep one arm warm while parading around at night in the chilly weather and one arm free while dancing the night away! Check out some of these great one-sleeved dresses and tops.

Royal Blue- The New Black

Ditch the classic black dress, pumps, (for now), etc. and spice up your life with some royal blue. This is such a gorgeous color and I’ve always been a fan. But lately, I’ve seen it popping up everywhere. On shoes, (bought my very own pair of royal blue wedges, so hot! and only $20 at Burlington Coat Factory), dresses, tops, even on nails! Check out some of my suggestions below. This color is perfect for the remainder of summer and even for the Fall/Winter. It’s a beautiful shade and will bring out the color of anyones eyes!

Don’t overdo it though. You don’t have to wear a royal blue dress with royal blue shoes to match. Let the dress be the focal point OR the shoes. You don’t want to be too matchy-matchy.

I am in love with skirts lately. Hike it up (not too high) and tuck in a loose, printed top in place of a dress.

A Little Black Dress With an Edge

All women must own an LBD! Or two! Or five! Hell, I have quite a few little black dresses in my closet. They will never go out of style and work for any occasion. But, you don’t always have to just wear a plain old LBD with plain old black heels and a silver necklace. Boring. You can totally make that LBD edgy by pairing it with a motorcycle jacket. This trend is huge on the red carpet. See below: Victoria Justice of the hit tv show, “Victorious” on Nick. I only watched it while babysitting. Shut up.

Victoria rocks her LBD with a maroon, leather motorcycle jacket pushed up at the sleeves. Classy with an edge!

SJP: The Look for Less

Well now I’m all into Sarah Jessica Parker’s style. Her clothes are ridiculous. Here she is at a fashion shoot. I love the graffiti background and her outfit is so hippie and funky against it.

Try this outfit, which is affordable, to get SJP’s look!

All you need is a floor-length dress, a short or long trench coat (since it’s summer, you don’t want fur do you!), a big, bold bag, a knit beret hat and sandals to match.

Summer’s Lookin’ Good..

I’m lovin’ all the looks in Bebe’s new summer look book, but here’s a few of note-worthy trends I’d like to share with you for the summer season.

Don’t be afraid to wear all white this season. It’s the only time of year you can really get away with wearing all white without thinking it’s “too summery” to wear, cuz well, summer IS around the corner. Throw on some earthy toned accessories such as bangles or earrings. Pair a white dress with pretty flats. Keep makeup natural with flirty eyelashes and pink lips.

Flowery, drapey tops are perfect for a night out on the town. They’re colorful and flirty, without being revealing. Pick any color from your top’s design and find a clutch that matches. Pair a top like this with white or black shorts, capris, or pants. The top is the fashion statement, so let the legs be more simple. Long, flowy waves or curls complete the look with some flashy eye makeup.

I’ve been trying to find a jumpsuit like this for the summer! It’ even hotter now that it’s flesh toned. You don’t want a jumpsuit that has pants, that’s just too much, go for one like this, it has short sleeves but it’s not sleeveless which becomes trashy. It also has shorts which make it sexy as well as unbuttoning a FEW buttons to show some cleavage like the model does here. But put on a beaded necklace or one like she has on to downplay that cleavage a bit. Hot!

Those juicy hues! Find yourself a dress or put together an entire outfit that comes in a juicy, peachy hue like this one. You can get away with it, it’s summer time! Find a shade that makes you want to bite into a kiwi or some other sort of fruit..that’s the color you want! Match the shade to your accessories or at least make sure they are in the same color family. Notice her bracelet is more of a red, punch color but it’s just a deeper shade of her orange dress so it works. If you’re afraid of all that color, pair your outfit with neutral colored shoes and jewelry.

As for accessories for the warm weather, animal print is still in..try a earthy shade of an animal print like the first photo on the top left. Don’t wear a hot pink zebra print, THAT is out. Big, aviator sunglasses are in, along with bright hues, whether it’s for your outfit, your shoes, or your bag! Find a pair of shoes that have a two-toned bright color combination going on like the second top right photo..this way these shoes will match more than one outfit! You can also throw them on with a simple colored look to add some flavor. Bracelets or bangles in multiples and earthy colors such as browns and golds are hot. Very sunny and summery. Adds instant glam. Thick headbands in prints are in as well, wear it with your hair natural and flowy like the model in the bottom right photo. Even rock it with a pair of shades like she does here, which looks very rocker/hippie turned glamorous.

Eva Longoria for Bebe Sport

It’s not fair! So many celebrities become models overnight and it doesn’t matter how tall they are! I guess they promote the products better than models because they are well known and idolized. What do you think? Anyways, Eva looks gorgeous, no doubt, in this campaign, but I still think you can tell she’s no model, just a pretty actress. And boy does she pass for a twenty something year old! (She’s really 33). She looks great.
