Vampy Nails for Fall/Winter

November 17, 2009 · 1 Comment

Think dark, sexy, but not gothic. When the winter months come, it’s an excuse to rock some dark shades on your fingers and toes, and get away with it. I’m still a sucker for black, but there are some alternatives if you don’t want to go that dark. Dark shades of blue, purple, brown, or green are all in this season and go with any outfit.

Also, short nails are in. A short, rounded or squared nail is simple, classic, and requires less upkeep! You won’t have to worry about your nails constantly breaking and being different lengths, if you keep them just above the tip of your finger. They look nicer than super long claws! PLUS, they offset the bold nail shades!

Jennifer sports a dark violet shade.

Eva in dark blue.

Spice up your deep nail shade with some sparkle! Metallic shades are super hot this coming winter! Even gold shades. Here are some of my favorite picks:

Such a beautiful wintery shade! Dior Vernis Nail Polish – Silver Purple 782

Get it at Sephora for $20

Worth My Weight by Opi at Sephora $9

Overexposed in South Beach by the South Beach Collection of Opi

Yves Saint Laurent Nail Lacquer in Deep Blue ($19)

Get Blake Lively’s Hair

October 30, 2008 · 1 Comment

Friggen gorgeous locks of hair! To get this look, spritz a texturizing spray throughout hair while wet. Blow dry with a round brush. Then, apply a curling iron to hair, but let go of the iron quickly, rather than holding the curl for a few seconds, in order to create waves instead of tight curls. Run fingers through hair to break up curls. Also, braid and twist sections of hair from the top of head, letting the ends run loose into the rest of your hair. So young and fresh!

Makeup Trick: Highlighting Your Eyes

October 6, 2008 · 2 Comments

This is a trick I’ve learned from magazines and celebs. They always highlight their eyes which automatically make them appear brighter and bigger.

Use a small/fine makeup brush and dip it in a cream colored shadow.

Then apply the shade to the inner corner of your eye. You want to use a defined brush so a big glob of shiny shadow doesn’t appear in the corner of your eye. You want to gently apply it so that it gives a slight glow and lines the tear duct.

Then, use the same shade with a slightly fuller brush and apply to the lid just under the arch of your brow. This highlights the brow.

See that? Highlights all around! Of course, it looks much better with a nice smokey eye or something but I just wanted to show you real quick and without too much distracting liner and dark shadow.

Also, full, messy brows are in! No more overplucked thin lines of hair above those pretty eyes! Comb your brows upward with a brow brush to create the effect.

The New 90210: Too Damn Skinny!

September 17, 2008 · 2 Comments

Forget the fashion. Look at the old 90210 photo below and look at the new 90210. There is a huge difference in the weight on the girls. The girls on the new 90210 are too freaking skinny! It’s disgusting! I noticed this the very first episode and I’m skinny myself, and I still think they are TOO thin! Their arms are dangly twigs as are their legs and they look like stringbeans with big heads. It’s insane. In the old 90210, look at Tori Spelling’s legs! She’s still thin but she’s not too thin! She is sexy! I think she looks great. What happend to the standards of beauty in this world in only a decade or two? I know the camera adds ten pounds but Tori still looks good at her weight so if these new characters gained a few pounds, they would still look fine on camera. This is absurd. They look like little 12 yr old girls with no shape. Give me your thoughts!

And I don’t wanna hear, stop focusing on the skinny, America is too fat! No you know what? Being too fat OR too skinny is unhealthy. Too much of anything is not good for you right? That’s what I thought.

Posh is Back to Her Roots

September 11, 2008 · 1 Comment

Victoria Beckham is back to her brunette roots, with a short, stylish pixy cut. What do you think of her new look?

Here she is sitting next to Jennifer Lopez at Fashion Week.

I personally love her as a brunette but I liked her blonde cut better, with that long side bang in the front, and short in the back. Your opinion?
