I admit, I did not rush into theaters to see Sex and the City on the first day, or buy tix in advance. But I didn’t want to deal with the madness! Can you blame me? So this post shoulda been earlier but it’s not. I just saw the movie tonight and I’m sure you already know how hot all the outfits were, the shoes, the hairstyles, the looks the girls portrayed. Here are some photos I rounded up to show you how these foxy ladies pull of the latest styles.
Carrie’s preppy outfit is so cute here. I love the white vest and the chunky, short tie, very trendy. Color is obviously a big trend in this movie as well as the belted, cinched waist. Big, colorful bags and big hair that is teased and playful, while pulled back like Carrie’s is a big hair trend this summer.
So fancy! Carrie’s hair looks great darker. Bubble dresses are a big thing, I’m not the biggest fan but here the ladies are off to Fashion Week, and you can get away with wild fashion trends there. I like the sutle bubble dresses better, just a personal preference.
Floral patterns, which I’ve mentioned in earlier posts, are obviously hot. BIG floral patterns as you can see here. There’s that belted waist. And bold prints like the geometric, mod-like print Miranda’s wearing, is a great pattern for a dress or top.
Carrie’s dress was to DIE FOR. Loved it. All the other girls look beautiful in bold colors, and the flowy trim at the bottom is a common trend of all three dresses. I love the contrast of the flowers each of them are carrying against all of their dresses.
White is an innocent, beautiful trend for summer…very romantic. Ballerina dresses are a big trend, I like how this dress isn’t “too poofy” and has nice layers and cinched satin waist.
These girls look great, the 2nd to last one mixed her prints and pulled it off because both the top and bottom are of the same boldness or intensity and have some of the same colors in both pieces. It CAN work! Scary to try to pull off though. Thick, strappy heels like Carrie’s in black are big too. They’re very edgy. I love shoes that go around the ankle. Just be careful if you have short legs, they can make them appear shorter. Big flowers by the neckline are hot too, as seen on Carrie here. I actually bought a top from Express that has a big rose in the middle on the neckline. It’s a more careful approach to Carrie’s bold trend here.
