I’ve noticed on other fashion sites and blogs that they’ve already started featuring trends from Fashion Week for the Fall ‘08! You won’t see that here. I hate when they jump ahead! It may be Spring, but it sure doesn’t feel like it yet..at least not here in Jersey..and if anything we need to live in the moment and think about capris and swimsuits, not sweaters and coats! So you won’t be seeing that here. Hope you don’t mind..I’m sure you don’t.
On to one of my fave new trends…the Retro, Pin-Up Girl style. I found a really cute site with tons of retro styles, costumes, dresses, shoes, etc. It’s even got some punky type retro stuff. Check it out here: Pin Up Girl Clothing. It’s pretty affordable too!
I’ve seen some of the pin up girl style incorporated into clothing and swimsuits at Victoria’s Secret. Here’s some images from the site of that look. Hot, isn’t it? Think…red lips, high, platformed shoes with ankle straps (which are in this season..see my other blog below), crisp, white shirts and blouses, denim denim denim, cuffed denim pants and capris, high-waisted pants, bandanas, big earrings, big sunglasses, curls and waves, floral, halter dresses, one-piece swimsuits…
You don’t have to go overboard, if you want to keep it modern with a retro twist, just go for the platform shoes with cuffed denim pants or capris, and then a modern printed top for spring and some big earrings. Or do the high ponytail look with red lips and a modern outfit. Try a retro-inspired, floral patterned halter sundress that is right to the knee, and to make it more modern, wear your hair down and straight or down with loose waves for summer, and flats.

I love the Pin Up Girl style. In to days world where so much is shown, this goes to show you that showing less can be just as sexy if done right. Very Hot.
